Tampa, FL, October 21st - Legion TD 2 has officially released its first major post-launch update. Sequel to one of Warcraft III’s most famed mods and having been successfully Kickstarted in 2016, over 125,000 players have now taken up arms to defend their King since its launch on 1st October 2021.
Legion TD 2 has evolved into a finely tuned competitive game of attack, defense and economy management for 1-8 players, and its latest update not only showcases its roadmap over the next 12 months, but also brings with it its first post-launch open tournament, a long requested damage tracker, as well as 4v4 skill-based matchmaking.
“Due to the more casual environment and the importance of fast queues, 4v4 matchmaking is very "loose," meaning you'll match with a variety of skill levels. Keep in mind that the team auto-balancer will always shuffle teams to be as fair as possible.” President and Co-Founder, Julian Gari.
Combined with a raft of improvements and fixes, 8.04 also makes sweeping balance changes to a range of Spells, Fighters and Mercenaries. Nerfs to Great Boar and Red Eyes are highly welcomed by the community.
With a focus on accessibility for newcomers but deep strategy for masters of the genre, Legion TD 2 has stepped out of its mod-shadow, rewriting the rulebook of how Early Access should be done after landing with a bang on launch. With thousands of “Very Positive” reviews across Steam in the last 30 days, the original vision that began 7 years ago has been realized.
Legion TD 2 is a game of tactics, teamwork, and prediction, with coordination essential for victory in 2v2 and 4v4 matches. Featuring both a single-player campaign and ranked PvP modes, players command one of eight factions and must defend their lane from waves of attacking NPCs by building and positioning defensive units to prevent enemies from breaking through and harming their team’s last line of defense: their King. With over a hundred units, multiple playmodes and thousands of players online daily, no two matches are alike
Considered one of the key inspirations for modern autobattlers like Teamfight Tactics and Dota Underlords, the original Legion TD mod helped build the foundations for a whole genre. With over a decade of mod history behind it and seven years of development as a standalone title, Legion TD 2 has achieved its ultimate form, and is available now on Steam for $19.99/€16.99/£15.49.
